For my Final Major Project, I will be looking into African scarification /tribal marking. Its were; people use either razor blades or sharp knives to cut the face and have native dye, pigmentation, or black paste; it is usually from crushed charcoal dust, which is put into the open wound to stain the marks, stop the bleeding and make the wound heal fast. They applied the black past to the wound in other to make the mark permanent and never fade away, growing alongside the bearer. The markings are either for identification, beautification, medical proposed or spiritual and protection purposes- I will be basing my print on the pattern of the markings left on the body.
Having researched the many different approaches to design responsibility, I am intentionally designing responsibly by using cruelty-free fabric in my collection. Each piece in the collection intends to be unique and special, which I would like to keep with me for a long time; however, I would like to see any fashion week. I Will be doing that by choosing good quality fabric and manufacturing use. I am aiming to design a women’s wear collection intended for the catwalk or fashion runway; for that reason, I will be creating a bold and colourful print collection, something new, fresh and eye-catching. I am determined to use some bright and colourful fabric, with a larger scale print whereby can be seen from afar, well as a smaller print scale. With unique and interesting details, for my colour, I will be using bright, bold, and traditional colours as well.
